Maybe without MTP drafts included?
Hi there!! I am fascinated with your models and results. Cheers! Just testing with my 16GB VRAM setup.
Is there a possibility to have MTP drafts stripped from the builds? without their weights, it should fit better and have more space for context in spite of less tokens/s... I consider context even more important than speed, considering long prompts or tasks.
It would be great.
Thanks so much for your efforts!! ;)
forget it!!! I did just strip the drafts n-predict from your gguf using a script without touching nothing else..
thanks so much!!! seems a lovely model!
I am certain that using MTP is faster than not using it.
Use the --override-tensor flag if you need more VRAM—the speed will be higher once you remove MTP entirely. Find the blocks with large FFN sizes and offload them to the CPU. If you don't know the specific tensors, you can just vibe-code a tool to inspect the GGUF FFN tensor sizes.
Alternatively, a quick workaround is to start from blk 63, 62, and so on in descending order, which fits this model well.
For example: --override-tensor 'blk\.(63|62|61)\.ffn_.*=CPU'
If you still want to remove MTP, check out the ready-to-use script here: https://huggingface.co/tooltd/Qwen3.6-27B-MTP-TENSORS-ONLY-GGUF/blob/main/remove_mtp.py
You don't need to re-download the model.
