A growing number of Chinese repos put their checkpoints and datasets on 123pan (123pan.com / 123云盘)
instead of Baidu Pan — it used to be the friendly one: no speed throttle, and a “guest” download for
anything under 100 MB.
That ended on 26 November 2025. Every 123pan download now requires a logged-in account, registration
needs a mainland +86 phone number (email sign-up stops at a phone-binding step), and even a free
account only gets 10 GB of download traffic per month — after that you pay per GB through Alipay or
WeChat Pay, which you can’t open without a Chinese bank account. So a 123pan link in a README is now
a dead end for most people outside China.
Two ways around it that work today:

Post the link here (with the 4-character code if the share has one) and I’ll fetch it and reply
with a direct download link — free for small files, I do this a few times a day (UTC+7). -
Do it yourself on 123pan Downloader — download 123pan.com (123云盘) files without a Chinese account | BaiduFast (full disclosure:
my own service, the same one from my Baidu/Quark thread). Paste the 123pan link, you see the real
size and price before anything is fetched, files under 150 MB are free, bigger ones are $0.79 for
the first GB + $0.49 per GB with a cap of $4.80 up to 50 GB / $9.80 up to 150 GB. It saves the
share into a 123pan VIP drive on the server and hands you a plain HTTPS link that works with
wget/aria2/IDM. Folders come back as one ZIP with the structure intact. No account, no signup,
nothing to install.
Speeds I measured on the server on 25 Sept 2026 (real VIP account): 23 MB/s on one connection,
39 MB/s on 16, and a 3.15 GB share was copied into the drive in 3 seconds. For comparison Baidu Pan
SVIP tops out around 19 MB/s. Chinese evening hours are noticeably slower on 123pan’s CDN.
Also works with pan.baidu.com and pan.quark.cn links (same box). Links from the 123pan app
(xxxx.mshare.123pan.cn/123pan/…) and the 123684 / 123865 / 123912 mirrors are recognised too.
If the share says 分享已失效 (expired), it is gone for everyone including people in China — ask the
repo owner for a fresh link.
